Installing a kickout flashing diverter where the gutter meets wall cladding is critical to keeping water away from the home. It is important to also cut the gutters 1/2" away from the wall. If the gutter penetrates into the cladding and the end cap fails, water will start leaking there and will result in something similar to the photo above. Fix the issue before it's too late and it becomes a bigger problem. There are several factors that can lead to water intrusion at this location but the most common reason is due to the lack of kickouts. Kickout flashings should be present and properly installed in order to be effective. Another import part is to add a slope to all the trim around doors and windows to allow the water to flow away and not sit there.
